4th of July 2021!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July this year!! We had an amazing weekend that included a little riding before we had some family show up to spend the weekend with us. There was a lot of activity in Outing for the weekend including a corn-hole tournament, a Fireman’s Dance that supported the Crooked Lake Fire Department, hot dog and brat sales for the Fire Department as well, and of course there were the fireworks put on by the Chamber of Commerce! The fireworks were AMAZING!! We were lucky enough to be able crash our friends place and hang out with them to see the show.

My husband and I got out onto the trails for a ride on Friday night after work. It was the only real time that we had to go and get some miles on the machines. His mother and step dad were going to be up on Saturday to float in the lake and visit our friends in the corn-hole tournament. We got to see so many people on Saturday it was a ton of fun. His mom and step dad also got to meet all the folks that we love up north – the ones we talk about all the time.

They were also up for the boat parade on our lake for the 4th. It started at noon and we already had the boat decked out in anything red, white, and blue!

Our boat parade on the lake was a huge success this year! Our cabin is on a small lake in Outing so there aren’t a lot of people on the lake. We had 24 boats total in the parade and a lot of our lake neighbors were either out on their docks waving at everyone or floating in the water supporting the parade. Those folks in the water were the smart ones given how hot it was on the 4th – I think it got up to 95 degrees that day. It was so much fun to see everyone’s decorations both on the boats and on everyone’s docks.

It’s always so nice to be able to ride our side by sides anywhere we can take them. We’ve only been into this sport for the last couple years but it’s definitely one of my favorite and surprisingly one of the most relaxing things we do. We do know that there is more to life than riding the trails so this last weekend was amazing to be able to take some time out to do some of our other favorite things and spend some time with our family. It was wonderful because it was my mother-in-law’s first time to the cabin and she and her husband seemed to really enjoy the weekend – especially the boat parade and the float time in the lake.

I’m glad we got a chance to go out for a ride on Friday night before all the 4th of July activities began. It was super quiet on the trails for us that night too – we didn’t run into any other ATVs on the trails. We went down some of the ones that are close to the cabin and super fun to ride for a short ride.

We also stopped by the All Pine Inn which is the adorable campground in Outing that’s on Morrison Lake. It’s one of my favorite places to stop by all times of the year. I couldn’t believe that this was the first time we made it over all this year. They do set-ups and are a 3.2 bar but this time we didn’t really stop for drinks. We just wanted to check in and say hello quick to the owners of the resort. It was nice to see them hanging out with family and guests, cooking burgers and brats.

We have a lot of super fun things to do in Minnesota and I’m glad this weekend included all of the great things Minnesota has to offer.
