Autumn Log-N-Ride 2021

It was the best leafing weekend we could have asked for! We were lucky enough to have some good friends up this weekend for the club’s Autumn Log-N-Ride. It’s a fun club ride that isn’t terribly organized and is really just meant for folks to get out on the trails and enjoy the fall colors. I think we hit the peak of fall colors up there this weekend. It may have been a little past peak in all reality but I think it was the best weekend to see all of the trees changing colors! We were probably a little past peak this weekend, there were a lot of leaves on the ground and the trees were a little sparse in some areas but the colors were beautiful. I think if this was planned a weekend later we would have missed all the beautiful colors.

We had a couple of friends up for one last ride of the season for them. We also got to ride with our friends that have a cabin up in Emily. We started at the Log Cabin Bar and met a couple at the bar that decided to join us for our ride. One of the best things about going on these types of rides is that you meet a lot of folks and we also get to show others the area that we love so much. We went on the new Blind Lake trail this weekend again because it’s the best one I think to see all of the lovely fall colors. It was a long day but it was also so much fun!

The leaves were amazing! I’m always super sad when summer is over because it’s my favorite season and I love warm, hot, humid weather. It’s probably because we live in Minnesota and we have such a short summer in a way that I can’t get enough of the hot sticky weather. I kind of forget that I absolutely love fall as well. It’s not my favorite thing to bust out the boots and hoodies and pants, but there’s so many fun things to do in the fall and leafing is always a fun thing to do, especially in a side by side.

It’s a super fun time of the year and it also reminds me that we need to get out on the trails as much as possible before they close for the season. Thankfully we have until the end of October to go out riding on the majority of the trails in the area so we have some weekends left. We also are really lucky to have a lot of trails in the area that are open to side by sides year round. Some of the trails up in the area are both atv trails and snowmobile trails so the ones that are used for both are closed to atvs and utvs so they don’t wreck the trails for the snowmobiles.

We had a really great ride this weekend. We made it over to the Corner Club and played some pulltabs. We thankfully won a $225 at the end so we were not down as much as we could have been! We made it back to Egg Lake at the perfect time for a beautiful sunset. It’s a regular stop on our trips with our friends that have a cabin up there. Such a great weekend and I can’t wait to out riding again next weekend!
