First Fall Ride 2021

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend out on the trails this weekend. We had a lot of things planned over the weekend so we decided to up to the cabin early this weekend to get a little riding in before the other things we had planned for the weekend. The weather was perfect I think for riding and it was a beautiful sunny day up north. We’ve luckily gotten a good amount of rain up there which really helped with the dust. We also finally got to do the entire Blind Lake Loop and Connector which turned out to be a nice long ride.

I know I’ve said it before but this new trail is amazing. It’s probably one of my favorite trails in the area. It’s really windy and it makes you feel like you’re really driving through the woods. There are some new boardwalks that the club installed to make the entire new trail usable and it also protects the areas of the woods that we shouldn’t be driving on.

We started out a little later in the day and stopped by some friends before we headed out on the trails. I want to say we were out riding for about four hours and it was just me and my husband out this weekend. We had an annual party that we were going to on Saturday as well as a quick stop at our friends annual event to celebrate her dad’s life and also raise some money for the Hill City Youth Trap group.

We’re having some folks up this weekend to probably do this exact same trail – depending on where the club is going that day. We have the annual Log-N-Ride coming up this Saturday. It looks like it’s just for all of us to get together and meet at the Log in Emily and go for ride with other members of the club. I know the last we talked to the folks in the club that they weren’t advertising this too much because they wanted to keep it a little smaller than some of the rides we’ve done lately.

I’m hoping the weather is great again for next weekend and we’re also hoping that the fall colors are going to be great as well. We haven’t had a ton of rain up there this entire year which I know can impact the leaves being as beautiful as they normally are in that area. I’m also hoping that it’s not terribly windy this week to help keep the leaves that are turning on the trees for when we go up this weekend.

One of my favorite things to do anymore is go riding around the Emily/Outing area and this new trail system also gets us over to Aitkin County as well. There are a lot of trails in the area that we can go riding on and this one seems so special – probably because it’s new.

We are also lucky that our friends that also have a cabin up in Emily will be up this coming weekend as well. We’re going to get together and celebrate his birthday this weekend because a lot of our friends are heading over to Tennessee the following weekend that’s closer to his birthday. Hopefully we’ll be able to make a couple stops and roast some hot dogs over a fire somewhere along the trail.

This past weekend was really nice and I’m glad we made it up there early to get in some riding before all of our other commitments over the weekend. We missed last week because my husband was traveling and it was harder for us to get up there and I really missed being out on the trails. We only have so many weekends left until a lot of the trail systems close for the season!
