Huntsville TN 2019

This was our first real trip in my husband’s Polaris General. It was really the first trail riding we did outside of the Wahkon area in Minnesota. My husband bought his General in February of 2019 and we took it out for one ride on Coon Lake with the original doors. I think he got the vinyl window installed shortly after that so we could go riding year round. I can’t remember at this point why he decided to get the full doors with the glass windows but he did… His machine he also added heat to. The only reason I’m starting this post with the information is because this trip was the first trip with his new doors installed. This trip is also the trip where he scratched the crap out of one of the doors going down a trail that was so rutted out that we were scraping down in on our side.

I remember yelling “Is that what we do with these things?? just wreck them!?”  I couldn’t believe we traveled all of this way to drive this thing on it’s side and ruin brand new doors! Really though, it is was you do with these things – you drive them on trails and take them places and try not to wreck them completely every time. This experience in Tennessee really helped my when I got a machine of my own. I worried less about keeping my machine perfect and spent more time driving it around and having a blast!

I remember getting up in the morning the first day we were going to go riding and I was wearing a white tank top. I didn’t think anything of it until my friend asked me in the morning if that was what I was wearing – expecting me to ruin it getting muddy – but we had full doors and windows so to me it was gonna be fine. Even if it got a little dirty who cares. I managed to stay pretty clean on the trip that day. I do remember getting out one of the times we stopped and my friend giving me crap about how clean I was so he threw a clump of mud at me – it was hilarious.

We left on a Tuesday to get on the road and get some miles behind us. We road with our friends and stayed in a hotel the first night once we were tired of driving. The next day we went to Nashville, Tennessee just for a night. I had never been there before and have known a lot of folks that have been there that said it was awesome. It was a ton of fun and we got to go to all the staple bars in town. It was also the night before the NFL draft so the main street was closed and it was busy! Someday I know we will get back there – it was definitely worth the stop.

The next day we left early and were off to Huntsville to do some riding! We got there at night and went for a ride on the most difficult trails in the area – not knowingly. The trip was absolutely amazing and a little scary at times. There were steep trails and deep ruts on a lot of them but I would totally do this one again!
