Fall Colors Ride 2021

It was another beautiful weekend in Minnesota! It’s one of those years here where we are blessed with a really warm fall. It feels like simmer isn’t willing to end this year and I’m all for it! It was a little colder this weekend but still felt really warm for October. We got out for a little riding this weekend and got to enjoy the fall colors up north. I have to say that the fall colors up north are so much better than what we have at home. I’m not sure if we are going to see the same kind of beautiful colors down where we live this year. It was a really dry summer as you can see in a lot of the posts here like the Hot and Dusty Weekend Ride or our pictures from Facebook. I know when we have a really dry summer it can really impact the fall colors.

We’ve been lucky enough to get some decent rain up north where we ride so the trails haven’t been as dusty as they have been all year.  I would personally take muddy trails with lots of puddles over the dusty trails we rode all year this year. It was a little gloomy for our ride this time but at least we didn’t get rained on. We didn’t have a real plan in mind this time when we headed out on the trails so it was fun to tool around where ever we decided at the time.

We made it to a couple of the regular spots on the trails and we also took a little ride down a trail we haven’t been on all year. We lovingly call it the Super Fun ATV Trail and it’s in an area that we don’t really get over to too often. I’ve personally never driven the trail so it was a new one for me. I know we go riding in the same area all the time but we have so many amazing trails that it can seem like a new ride every time. We also got over to Fifty Lakes this time and talked to the bartender there and she told us about a new trail we’re going to have to try out next weekend.

We didn’t get as much riding in as we had hoped with everything that we needed to do up north this weekend. We had to pull the boat off the lake this weekend so we took our doggo for one last boat ride for the season. He was so happy to get out on the lake and get in some last smells of the lake.

We had other chores that we needed to attend to over the weekend so it cut into our time out on the trails. We did get out for a little riding thankfully because it’s probably the last weekend we will get to see those beautiful leaves on the trails. I’m pretty sure that when we get out there next weekend most of the leaves will be on the ground and it won’t be nearly as pretty as it was this weekend. We were lucky enough to have some friends up last weekend for the Autumn Log-N-Ride and the leaves were beautiful on that ride as well.  I was afraid that we hit the peak last week and was really glad we got at least one more weekend to enjoy the colors in the woods.
